A day out of the classroom

On 21 February 2025 the school emptied into buses and spent the day in a forest. Tall trees, dirt paths, a rope walkway strung between them, horses to ride, and stalls selling food and crafts along the way. Pupils went in the grey school polo rather than uniform, which is its own small signal: a day where the rules relax without disappearing. Staff went along in numbers, and the youngest children went with the oldest. A school is easy to judge on a good day indoors. It is worth seeing on a day when two hundred children are loose in a forest and everyone still comes home.
